Inspirational Teachers

After conducting seminars for many and interacting with so many of our colleagues I found the following points true to a great teacher.

These teachers tend to share the following traits:

1. Purpose

Inspiring teachers believe that success serves a higher purpose. When you ask what motivates them, they talk about making their pupils successful.

Uninspiring teachers believe that success is their higher purpose. When you ask what motivates them, they talk about what makes them personally satisfied.

2. Giving Back

Inspiring teachers feel an obligation to "give back." Their long-term plans usually include selfless giving to their students what they have.

Uninspiring teachers feel no such obligation. Their long-term plans are limited to cashing in and/or earning more money!

3. Gratitude

Inspiring teachers are deeply grateful. They know that their success is hugely dependent upon their hard work and positive attitudes.

Uninspiring teachers are self-satisfied. They secretly believe their success is a natural result of being smarter and better than everyone else.

4. Beliefs & Values

Inspiring teachers treasure their beliefs. They don't wear their values on their sleeves, but their deeply held convictions pervade everything they say and do.

Uninspiring teachers foist their opinions. They demand converts to whatever religious sect or management fad currently captures their fancy.

5. Empathy

Inspiring teachers care about pupils. They agree with Bill Gates that the fortunate few have an obligation to help those who are less fortunate.

Uninspiring teachers couldn't care less. They agree with Ayn Rand that the poor are merely "moochers" begging for a handout, so no help.

6. Team Work

Inspiring teachers spread the credit. They never brag about themselves. Instead they redirect praise toward everyone else on the team.

Uninspiring teachers spread the blame. They are as quick to mention the mistakes of underlings as they are to toot their own horns.

7. Energy

Inspiring teachers are uplifting. They have energy and radiate energy to all. Children are simply inspired to and come away from classes with them thinking, how good it is to be here with him/her learning.

Uninspiring teachers are depressing. They make others too un happy and stressful!

8. Spiritual

Inspiring teachers have an all embracing spiritual attitude and they are inclusive in approach.

Uninspiring teachers are narrow minded and think within the limit of boundaries. They are exclusive in attitude and approach!

Yes, I have met many of the inspiring teachers wherever I went ….

True, quite many uninspiring teachers too I found….
