Fr. Vinod Fernandes, SJ

November 2015 was one of the important months for De Nobili School, Bhuli. On 4th November, a day of recollection held for the teaching and administrative staff of De Nobili Schools, Bhuli and Sijua-Koradih. Fr. Peter Francis SJ from XLRI enlightened the participants  to live and grow in inner happiness as well as share it with other. A day of retreat was held on 11th Nov. 2015, for the Christian students of De Nobili Schools from Bhuli, CMRI, Sijua-Koradih and Maithan. 46 students were guided under the care of Frs. Vinod SJ and Sushil SJ and assisted by Srs. Priyal AC and Punita AC. Being the day of Deepawali, the theme of the retreat, “Christ, the light of the world (Jn 8:12)” was well suited with the day of celebration. The children were motivated to be the light of the world through their words and deeds. A day of retreat based on the same theme was conducted for the Christian students of De Nobili Schools, FRI, and Sindri as well as of Carmel School, Digwadi under the direction of Fr. Vinod Fernandes, SJ who was ably assisted by Srs. Inette AC and  Swarupa AC.  On Children’s day, it was the turn of teachers to entertain them, and communicate to them how precious they are by their beautiful songs, dances and skits.

The most important day was the Annual Sports Day held on 21st of November in the presence of large number of dignitaries, guests and parents. Fr. Pius Fernandes, SJ, the principal of De Nobili School, FRI was the chief guest. It was well planned, coordinated and executed under the leadership of Fr. Victor Misquith SJ, the principal and Fr. Vinod Fernandes SJ, the vice-principal along with the cooperation of all the staff and students.The students, along with their breathtaking sportsmanship on the ground, enthralled the august gathering with fascinating performances such as  parade, dandia, drills, karate, yoga. It was indeed a grand success that added a feather to our cap.

The school bagged second overall championship trophy in the state level Karate competition held at Dhanbad. 46 students, who won prizes and medals at various categories, have made the school very proud.
